President's Emerging Global Scholars Program
Prof. Blumentritt has been with Kennesaw State since 2005 as a faculty member in the Department of Management & Entrepreneurship. During his time at KSU, Tim has taught a wide variety of classes in the Coles College, led three study abroad experiences, represented KSU in numerous countries, and has led the Coles College MBA Program, International Center, and Online Program. His research focuses on succession and strategic issues in family-owned businesses; he is currently a Fellow at Kennesaw State’s Cox Family Enterprise Center. He currently sits on the Board of Junior Achievement of Georgia.
Prof. Blumentritt joined the PEGS Program as its Director in July 2016.
Rita Bailey, Ed.D.
Dean, Honors College
Dr. Bailey joined the Honors College in July 2016. She previously served as assistant provost for the Office of International Studies and Programs, the English Language Institute and the Honors Program at Illinois State University. She joined the faculty at Illinois State in 2002. Prior to her academic roles, Dr. Bailey worked as a hospital- and school-based speech-language pathologist, a pediatric dysphagia specialist, hospital administrator and special-education administrator and consultant in multiple educational settings. Dr. Bailey has authored or co-authored nearly 40 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and other publications. She earned her Ed.D. in special education, a master’s degree in speech pathology and bachelor’s degree in speech pathology/audiology from Illinois State University.
Michelle Miles, Ph.D.
Director of National and International Scholarships and Fellowships
Dr. Miles moved to Atlanta in the fall of 2004 to begin her doctoral studies in English Literature at Emory University and received her Ph.D. in 2011. Prior to her current appointment with the KSU Honors College as Director of National and International Scholarships and Fellowships and Assistant Professor of English, Michelle served as the Associate Director of UGA at Oxford Study Abroad Programs. A 2004 recipient of the George J. Mitchell Scholarship, Michelle is passionate about supporting students applying for prestigious awards.
Communications and Marketing Specialist
Casey Waldsmith joined the Honors College as the Communications and Marketing Specialist in January 2017. She is an alumna of Kennesaw State University and graduated from Cole’s College of Business with an undergraduate degree in Business Marketing. She is a member of the University’s Marketing Council and a graduate of the 2017 Excel Leadership Program. Casey is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University.
