Eligibility and Application

Please note that all students interested in applying for admission to KSU Journey Honors College must first apply to Kennesaw State University. Until a student has been accepted into KSU, his or her application will be placed in our “pending file” while the KSU Admissions Office makes its admissions decision.

  • First-year students applying for admission to KSU Journey Honors College must meet one of the following eligibility requirements:

    Eligibility Rule One:

Application essays assessed to be of Honors quality

***First-year students who do not meet the minimum criteria for admission may apply to KSU Journey Honors College after their first semester at KSU. At that point, they are evaluated as current KSU students and must attain a KSU adjusted GPA of 3.25 and have 12 or more earned college credit hours.

  • Eligibility for students who are graduating from high school and who participated in KSU's Dual Enrollment Program is based on how many college credit hours were completed:

    • Students who have earned fewer than 12 college credit hours are subject to the same eligibility requirements as first-year students (see above).
    • Students who have earned 12 college credit hours or more must have a KSU GPA of 3.25 or greater.
    • All Dual Enrollment students must submit an application with essays assessed to be satisfactory.

Admissions requirement for continuing dual enrollment students who have earned 12 or more college credit hours

    • KSU GPA of 3.25

Admissions requirements for continuing dual enrollment students who have earned fewer than 12 hours are subject to the same eligibility requirements as first-year students (see above).

    *Please note:

    • All courses taken by DEP students must be approved by a DEP advisor and their high school counselor.
    • If an Honors section of an approved course (e.g., ENGL 1101/H01 or HIST 1111/H01) is available, then the student may take the Honors section rather than a regular section.
